Children's rights

Children's rights are an issue of paramount importance in today's Society, children are the hope of the future and they must be protected, cared for and guaranteed their basic rights regardless of gender, color, religion or social origin .

Child protection is a social responsibility that we must all fulfill , and the child is considered the most vulnerable and affected person in our society, therefore we must work with all our efforts to protect him and provide a safe environment for his growth and development .

Child protection includes many aspects, from protection from physical, emotional and sexual abuse to protection from illegal trade, practical exploitation and child labor, as well as taking care of the health and proper nutrition of the child and his right to quality education .

Companies, institutions, governments and individuals should all contribute to the protection of children, and this can be done by activating laws and policies related to children's rights and ensuring their effective implementation, as well as providing child reception centers in crisis situations and providing psychological support programs for abused children .

In addition, parents and society can contribute by raising awareness and education about the rights of the child and informing people about possible forms of abuse and how to deal with them, and the child should also be encouraged to speak out and express his feelings and fears, and provide him with emotional support and psychological security, so as members of society, it is our duty to protect the child and provide a safe and loving environment for him to grow and develop , Because child protection is an investment in our future and the future of society, and child care is a priority that we must all work together to achieve .

An incredible thing happened in 1989, against the backdrop of the changes in the world order at that time, world leaders came together and made a historic commitment to the children of the world, and made a promise to all children to protect and strive for their rights, through the adoption of an international legal framework-the UN Convention on the rights of the child .

This Convention contains the very important idea that children are not just subordinates belonging to their parents and decisions are made on their behalf, or they are in the process of training to become adults, but human beings and individuals with their own rights .

The convention states that childhood is separate from adulthood and lasts until the age of eighteen; it is a special and protected period during which children must be allowed to grow, learn, play, develop and thrive with dignity .

The convention has become the most widely ratified in history and has helped transform the lives of children .

Governments have been inspired to change their laws and policies and make investments so that more children have access to the health care and nutrition they need to survive and thrive, and there are stronger safeguards to protect children from violence and exploitation .

The convention has also allowed more children to make their voices heard and participate in their communities .

The United Nations is one of the most prominent international organizations concerned with the rights of the child.the UN General Assembly has adopted the convention on the rights of the child, and this convention is an international legal instrument that defines the rights that all children should enjoy. the convention also covers many different aspects of a child's life, including the right to growth, development, health, education, care and protection.

The basic rights of the child include the right to life and protection from any harm or abuse .the child must live in a safe and healthy environment that contributes to his growth and Development. children must also enjoy the right to receive basic education and have developmental opportunities to develop their skills and abilities.

In addition, children should be given special protection from exploitation, child labour, violence, illegal trade, discrimination, persecution and torture, and states should take effective measures to address these problems and ensure that judicial mechanisms are in place to punish criminals and protect victims .

There should also be freedom of expression and participation for children, it should be recognized that they have opinions, ideas and dreams and that they should be able to express themselves freely and participate in decision-making that affects their lives .

Moreover, States should provide social and economic support to children and their families, there should be a strong children's health care system and educational opportunities available that are provided fairly, and children should have the right to a good and decent life by meeting their basic needs .

Therefore, the protection and promotion of children's rights should be considered the responsibility of all, whether families, schools, communities or international organizations .children's rights are a set of fundamental rights that should be enjoyed by all children, by promoting the implementation of the convention on the rights of the child, raising awareness about this issue, and working to build societies that protect and respect the rights of children everywhere.
